Attire/Lessons/Code of Conduct

LOCATION:

Emerging Equestrians Saddle Club (E2SC) LLC, is located at 1769 County Road 1242, Vinemont, AL, 35179. We enthusiastically provide equine instruction for beginner riders in both western and English riding disciplines. Our facility includes an outdoor riding arena and trail riding options.

RIDING ATTIRE:

Students should come dressed to ride in proper riding attire consisting of:

1. Long pants: Jeans, breeches or riding tights.

2. Riding boots: Boots with a smooth sole and defined heel not more than 1½ inches high. (Under no circumstances will students wearing sandals be allowed to participate in ANY Equine Activities.)

3. Fitted/Semi Fitted Shirt: Students will not be permitted to ride in loose or billowing clothes or dangling jewelry as it can pose a safety risk should loose items get caught/snagged on saddle or horse.

4. Appropriate attire for the weather/season (coats, gloves, ear warmers, etc.).

5. Riding Helmet: An ASTM approved riding Helmet must be worn at all times while participating in mounted Equine Activities. Stable owned helmets are available for student use, as needed. NOTE: Failure to arrive at lessons in proper riding attire will result in student not being permitted to ride or participate in that day’s Equine Activities.

CODE OF CONDUCT:

Below is a list of student expectations for participating in our Lesson Program.

1. RESPECT FOR YOURSELF: As an E2 Saddle Club participant it is your job to make sure you are prepared for your lesson. This means coming to your lesson rested, having eaten, having used the restroom, carrying a filled water bottle, etc. We also expect student riders to complete all of their school work, maintaining at least a "C" average, or parents may choose to remove the student from the program. Maintaining good grades shows respect for yourself, your parents, your instructor and shows that you are serious about staying in this program.

2. RESPECT FOR EQUIPMENT: Saddles, bridles, crops, helmets, saddle pads, halters, etc., are very expensive and often difficult to replace. Please put things back properly and where you found them. If you notice something is not in its proper place, damaged or have any questions about your equipment, please ask your instructor for help.

3. RESPECT FOR OTHERS: Please show respect for other students, parents and instructors at all times. When in the arena please do not to talk over the instructor, give other riders advice or tell them what to do. Please listen to the instructor giving you direction, and ask questions if you have them. NOTE: Disrespectful "talking back" to the instructor or parents will not be tolerated and may result in being pulled from the lesson and/or program.

4. RESPECT FOR YOUR HORSE: This means making sure you are treating them fairly in what you are asking, telling, and then demanding of them. Please be sure you are using the proper tools when riding them. Always use your vocal commands first before using any other aids. Show respect for your horse by following your instructor's directions for improving your technique or correcting a problem. Your horse will thank you!

5. RESPECT FOR THE BARN: E2 Saddle Club is a real working barn that is busy with chores, maintenance and projects; fences are electric. We have a viewing area specifically for parents, siblings, friends, or family. Only the owners, instructor, and students accompanied by the instructor, are allowed in the barn.

BOTTOM LINE: When in doubt, ask! We are happy to help and we are here to answer your questions!

Thank you!
